Meghan Carter is an attorney with Sternberg, Naccari, and White, LLC, based in New Orleans, LA.

Meghan joined the firm in 2022, adding to its litigation and business sections after working at a major law firm in the New Orleans area and in a boutique practice she co-managed. Meghan grew up in Covington, and recently moved back to the Northshore.

Meghan, who comes from a long line of New Orleans litigators, has served as counsel to individuals and businesses in a number of complex litigation and business disputes. Her most challenging questions came from all corners, including startups and international businesses. She enjoys combining the intellectual and creative to find the best solution for her clients’ problems.

She began her legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Stanwood R. Duval Jr., former United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Louisiana, serving for two years before beginning her practice.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University, graduating summa cum laude in English literature, with a minor in philosophy, and then earned her Juris Doctorate from LSU Law School, graduating cum laude, where she was a member of the Louisiana Law Review and co-founded the LSU Journal of Energy Law and Resources, serving as its first Articles Editor.

In her practice, Meghan’s broad range of complex litigation experience has brought her to advise her clients on significant issues in business, including contracts, intellectual property, property and environmental issues, and employment. She has represented clients in copyright, trademark, non-competes, employment discrimination and EEOC complaints, defamation and anti-SLAPP law, breach of fiduciary duty/fraud, and City of New Orleans property and zoning disputes and has also defended several federal and state RICO cases. Meghan also has handled numerous Louisiana and Federal appeals.

Meghan and her husband live on the Northshore with their family, where they enjoy weekends on the lakefront and at the area’s many parks.
