M. Suzanne “Suzy” Montero is a veteran litigator and advocate who brings to the firm a wealth of experience and a specialization in complex litigation. Her name is well known in courtrooms across Louisiana, and her opposing counsel and long-term clients know that every case is her most important matter.

Over the course of a storied career, Suzy has served as a first chair litigator, negotiator and counsel to individuals and businesses throughout the Gulf Coast and beyond. She particularly specializes in cases involving catastrophic injuries, business disputes, and cases with complex issues of causation and/or liability.

Suzy’s clients know her to be keen, compassionate, and decisive. She is fond of saying that her confident demeanor in the courtroom, a deposition or a mediation comes from a dedication to preparation. By planning for every case to go to trial from day one of the representation, Suzy is able to better advise her clients on the expected costs, the merits of settlement or the nuances of

discovery motions.

A native New Orleanian and a graduate of Southern Methodist University, Suzy holds a J.D. from Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University. She has tried cases in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, St. Charles, Lafourche, Terrebonne, St. Mary, St. Martin, and Iberia Parishes as well as in the United States District Court in the Eastern District of Louisiana.

She is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal Courts, the Chitimacha Tribal Court in Charenton, Louisiana; the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States.

She holds an active membership with the Louisiana State Bar Association, Association of Women Attorneys, Louisiana Association of Justice, American Association of Justice, St. Thomas More Inns of Court, Federal Bar Association, American Bar Association, IWO, New Orleans Bar Association, Association of New Orleans Trial Lawyers.

Suzy is fond of many things and has varied interests, but nothing compares to her love of cooking. She is the embodiment of a New Orleanian, and routinely eats lunch while talking about dinner. When she is not chasing her two beloved dogs around New Orleans, Suzy can be found wandering Dorignac’s or other local food stores in complete and shameless bliss.
