Scott Sternberg serves as Managing Partner of Sternberg, Naccari & White, where he leads the firm’s operations and relishes his role as counselor to individuals, businesses, and media outlets.


Scott’s litigation practice has taken him across the country representing businesses large and small. Scott has experience both bringing and defending a wide breadth of personal injury, real estate, partnership, and contract cases. His experience in media, messaging, and public affairs provides value-added experience for clients facing high-profile and sensitive matters.


Scott is perhaps best known for his vibrant practice in high-profile, high-stakes, and bet-the-company disputes. Scott represents newspapers, television stations, and media in public records, open meetings, libel, privacy and other First Amendment-related issues. Scott serves as general counsel to the Louisiana Press Association and advises news organizations such as The Advocate | The Times-Picayune. He also works closely with television stations and journalists around the country. In his role with the Louisiana Press Association, Scott has written and amended legislation, with countless Instances of testimony at the Louisiana Legislature, where he regularly testifies on public access, open government, ethics, and constitutional issues.


In 2023, the Young Leadership Council named Scott as a "Role Model." In 2022 he received the President's Award from the Federal Bar Association of New Orleans, an organization that he has served since 2011 as a current Board member, and formerly as Chair of the Younger Lawyers Division.


Scott has twice won the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Stephen T. Victory Award for his writing. In 2015, Scott was also named one of Gambit’s “40 under 40.” In 2018, the state bar association presented him with a “Citizen Lawyer” award. He served on the Board of Governors for the state bar from 2019-2023. He was Chair of the Louisiana State Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division for 2018-2019.


Scott received his Juris Doctor and Diploma in Civil Law cum laude from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where he was a member of the Louisiana Law Review, selected for the Moot Court Board and elected president of the Student Bar Association. While earning his bachelor’s degree in Journalism at LSU, he edited The Daily Reveille.


Scott has political campaign and campaign finance experience, and during law school represented tens of thousands of students as the elected student-member of the LSU System Board of Supervisors.


Scott serves on the Board of Directors for the Pro Bono Project, Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana, and the Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Engagement. He formerly served on the Boards of the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, American Red Cross of Southeast Louisiana, Young Leadership Council, LSU Law Alumni and Manship School of Mass Communication Alumni. 


From 2012-2018, Scott was on the faculty at Loyola University’s School of Communication, teaching Media Law and ethics to communications students. He returned to the faculty in 2024.


Scott and his wife, Breland, are the parents of four children, and they never have a dull moment.
