Abid Hussain is the Managing Partner for the Firm’s business counsel and intellectual property practice. His firm, Hussain Law LLC, merged with Sternberg, Naccari & White, LLC in 2020.

Abid’s practice focuses on protecting clients from making catastrophic business pitfalls, so that clients can grow their bottom line and their business. While the majority of Abid’s clients are in the New Orleans metropolitan area, Abid works with various businesses in Texas, Delaware, New York, Nevada, Wyoming, California, and Tennessee, and he handles US corporate matters for several international clients.

Abid brings a wealth of business, technology, and intellectual property experience to Sternberg, Naccari & White. During law school, Abid was a summer associate in the legal department of Microsoft. After law school, Abid worked in a variety of non-legal tech roles, including web development and marketing positions, for companies that ranged from startups to Fortune 200 companies. Upon becoming licensed to practice law in Texas in 2006, Abid gained experience as a corporate attorney, setting up hundreds of small businesses that operated in a wide-range of business sectors, from real estate investors and title companies, to bars and restaurants, and to software development companies. Abid is also corporate counsel for a variety of nonprofit companies.

In 2012, Abid was admitted to the Louisiana bar and relocated to New Orleans but continued to maintain his clients in Dallas. Post-Katrina New Orleans surged with new business ideas and a growing community of technology startups, into which Abid found a new, energetic, and active client base. Abid’s background with technology companies made him a natural fit within the ecosystem built by Launch Pad and the Idea Village. Abid’s expertise grew from corporate law to the trademark and copyrights aspects of intellectual property law. Abid worked on a wide range of matters involving the formation, funding, merging, sale, exit, and dissolution of early stage companies.

Having built a highly efficient law practice on web technologies, Abid frequently spoke on technology topics at CLEs across Louisiana. As a result of his involvement with the Solos and Small Firms Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Abid served as the chair of that section for three years. Abid has also taught skills courses to Loyola Law School students in which he discusses how to develop and run a lean-n-mean law practice that is mutually beneficial to attorneys and clients.

Abid serves on the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board as a hearing committee officer. He has been recognized by his peers and colleagues as a New Orleans Magazine Top Lawyer for 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 as a top corporate lawyer in the city. The November 2016 issue of New Orleans Magazine featured an article on Abid’s law practice and its focus on protecting small businesses. Read the article published on

Abid is also an accomplished music producer, having produced and released more than 270 songs and remixes, spread out over 14 albums. Abid teaches digital music production as an adjunct professor at the University of New Orleans. In 2018, Abid spoke at the Loop music conference in Hollywood on the tension between current copyright laws and digital music technologies.

Abid is the proud parent of a senior at Benjamin Franklin High School who is planning to attend LSU this fall.
